Educational program

At the daycare, we apply the educational program proposed by the Ministry of Families, in a spirit of kindness, respecting individual differences as well as the pace of development of each child.

Throughout their time at the daycare, children are supported with care through everyday learning situations — during playtime, meals, naps and recreation — to promote their overall development.

In a safe and warm environment, we support the acquisition of essential values such as autonomy, creativity, the joy of learning, effort, respect for others and collaboration, allowing each child to fully develop at their own pace.

Throughout their time at the daycare, children are nurtured through everyday learning experiences—during playtime, meals, naps, and recess—to foster their overall development in various areas. In a safe and warm environment, we support the acquisition of essential values such as independence, creativity, a love of learning, effort, respect for others, and collaboration, allowing each child to flourish at their own pace.

Developing language

The program promotes language stimulation in all its forms: artistic, physical, oral, and even a first form of written language.

Promote the cognitive domain

The program helps the child to understand the relationship between objects and events, to build their thinking, to develop their logical reasoning, to find problem-solving strategies, to observe, to formulate hypotheses, to experiment and to draw conclusions.

Promote the physical and motor domain

We offer children numerous opportunities to move, explore, and develop their motor skills in a safe and stimulating environment. Through active play, motor activities, and daily routines, children develop their coordination, balance, strength, and gross and fine motor skills. We respect each child's pace and encourage the joy of movement, thus fostering self-confidence and physical well-being from early childhood.

Promoting the child's overall development

The program emphasizes the developmental process rather than the acquisition of specific skills or the product that might result from the child's actions. What matters is the child's ability to interact constructively with their environment.

Emotional and social development

We place great importance on the emotional well-being and social relationships of each child. In an atmosphere of trust, security, and kindness, children learn to recognize and express their emotions, while developing their self-esteem and sense of security. Group living and daily interactions foster learning about sharing, communication, respect for others, and collaboration, thus contributing to the establishment of positive and harmonious relationships.

The Les Premiers Pas daycare prioritizes an interactive educational model, in which the educator and the child develop in partnership throughout the child's journey. The educator supports the child with kindness, guiding them in their experiences, explorations, and learning, respecting their pace and needs.

In accordance with the guidelines of the Ministry of Families, our educational action is based on a threefold objective: to ensure the well-being, health and safety of the children entrusted to us; to offer a stimulating and adapted living environment, promoting their overall development from birth until entry into school; and to prevent the emergence of subsequent difficulties in learning, behavior or social integration.

To this end, we have implemented a program of activities designed to support the child's overall development in all aspects of their being, including emotional, social, moral, cognitive, linguistic, physical, and motor skills. This program also allows the child to gradually adapt to group life and integrate harmoniously into it.

The numerous activities offered at the daycare allow us to respect and implement the five basic principles essential to any childcare service:

  • Every child is unique

  • The child is the primary agent of their own development

  • Child development is a holistic and integrated process

  • Children learn through play

  • Collaboration between educators and parents is essential for the harmonious development of the child.

Recognizing that each child is unique, our educational team adapts its approach to each child's personality, needs, and pace, with the aim of fostering optimal development. We place great importance on children's freedom in their learning process, the expression of their imagination, and their ability to make choices. A child's development is an active process in which they are the primary participant, while the role of the educators is to guide, support, and accompany this process with care and kindness.

Children learn primarily through play. Therefore, although each of our activities has specific objectives, our program is designed to be fun and engaging. In the best interests of the child, we also consider it essential to establish a relationship of trust and collaboration with parents, who remain their child's first educators. This is achieved through dialogue, daily communication, and regular meetings.

Thus, the daycare offers activities grouped around five main themes:

  • Physical activities , aimed at developing motor skills, such as ball games, dance, running and gymnastics;

  • Language activities , promoting comprehension and oral expression, particularly through exchanges between children, singing, reading symbols, listening and inventing stories;

  • Cognitive activities , supporting intellectual development, such as crafts, sorting and assembling objects, puzzles and memory games;

  • Affective and social activities , allowing the child to develop their emotional security, social skills, cooperation, empathy and positive relationships with their peers;

  • Special activities , in the form of outings or enriching themed workshops.
